Steve’s been really busy supporting tRump’s agenda. It’s hard to keep track, so here’s a link to his recent votes: 538.com
Steve’s voted with tRump’s agenda 97.4% of the time and seems to have little regard for his constituents. Not only is he consistently putting party above doing what’s right for America, he’s also been spending his time fundraising (and crowing about it) for his next run in 2018 rather than talking to the folks he actually represents!
All of these actions are great to shine a light on Stivers’ unwillingness to represent his constituents and his compulsion to carry tRump’s political water for him. However, that said, what steps are being taken to identify and draft a viable challenger for Stivers seat? If ever the time was right to challenge Stivers it is now ! Stivers is acting with political arrogance because he doesn’t really believe he is beatable in the 15th district. Until that part of the political equation changes I believe we can expect very little in the way of a willingness to be responsive to his constituents.
There are two candidates that I know of, one of which will announce on the 15th. Those are Democrats, so I don’t know about any RepubliCon challengers. I hear you! I’m ready t get him out of office!
I’m totally on board with anyone who will challenge Stivers. I hope it is a strong candidate that we can build support for and consensus around. Thanks for the heads up (and hope).
