With the health care of more than 200,000 children of working families on the line, it’s time for Congress to fully reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance Program. The 20-year-old program, with covers approximately 9 million children across the country, previously enjoyed bipartisan support, but Republican Congressional leaders have refused to move a bill to continue the program for five more years.

On Tuesday, community members will be dropping off Chocolate Chip Cookies to Senator Portman and Congressman Steve Stivers encouraging them to support full funding for CHIP in the upcoming budget! Please join us! We will gather for press availability at 10am out side of Portman’s office and 2pm outside of Stivers office before going in and delivering the cookies with notes supporting CHIP.

If you can’t attend, please call these offices in support of CHIP and the families that rely on it.  Scripts and contact information on this issue are available from 5calls.
