You might have heard or read that members of various Ohio Indivisible groups went to DC to visit Senator Portman because he refuses to hold a Town Hall to hear our concerns about his plans to repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act.  We can’t stop pressuring him.  We need YOU to call his office (any one will do) until you can speak with a member of his staff to let him know what you think of TrumpCare.

Portman’s Phone Numbers: DC: 202-224-3353; Columbus: 614-469-6774; Cincinnati: 513-684-3265; Cleveland: 216-522-7095; Toledo: 419-259-3895; Main Switchboard: 202-224-3121

Please remember to keep calling and try not to leave a voicemail if you can.  If you must leave a voicemail, leave your full name and address so that they know you are a constituent.

Here’s a script that you can use when you call.

Hello, my name is [your name] and I live in [town], Ohio, and am a constituent of Senator Portman. I am extremely disturbed that Senator Portman has not held a town hall to hear the views of his constituents about TrumpCare. I know that a bus of dozens of Ohioans traveled to Washington, DC, yesterday to seek out Senator Portman because he is completely inaccessible in the state of Ohio. Although I was unable to attend, I stand with the riders of the bus in opposition to the [destruction of the ACA/repeal of the ACA/etc] and wish that Senator Portman would have the courage to hold a town hall in central Ohio to hear my views on healthcare as well. Senator Portman must vote no on this bill.

This is an issue that is important to me and I will remember Senator Portman’s actions when I vote.  Thanks for taking my call!
